Nepal Update One

Here is Update One from the Nepal and India Mission Trip.

The Team members are having a great time ministering to the local pastors and children!

~~~~
Hi Everyone,
We hope this finds you well. We are through our first day of ministry in East Nepal. It has been absolutely amazing. To see the faces of the young pastors and leaders that we have been working with for 4 years now brought us great joy. Their warm smiles and hugs makes the 2 days of travel completely worth it.
During our Fundamentals of the Faith teaching, they were engaged and excited to have training material printed in the Nepali language. We could sense the buzz in the room as they took notes and intently listened to the teaching.
In between sessions, worship filled the air and our team was able to do special music.
Our high school VBS team has done an incredible job with the children. There were over 50 children jumping up and down, laughing, making crafts, and learning about Jesus. Our kids were overwhelmed with the beauty of the village and the beauty of the children that they were working with.
As Sam was teaching, the rest of the team took a walk through Hallelujah Town. The last time we were there, land was just purchased for the new believers of Hallelujah town and we were able to give each of the families a water buffalo. This year, you can see the abundant blessings of God. Their homes have been completed and these people have become middle class citizens.
We went from hut to hut as each family would lay out a mat for us and welcome us. We had no translator and so we sat and smiled, took pictures of the children and walked in and out of some of the rooms. Who needs words when you have the love of Christ?
The village itself was breathtaking. The open fields were green with tall grass that is used for the thatch roofs as we walked through the village people were doing some of their everyday chores; feeding the pigs, washing children with water from a hand pumped well. Some women were extending their patios with a heavy mud like clay. Men were carrying bundles of wheat on sticks of bamboo. As we walked past hut after hut, every person we saw, would greet us with a smile.
Each of the missionaries has incredible highlights from our first day of ministry. However it would take entirely too long for them to put into words what they have experienced.
We are so grateful for your love and support that has allowed us to come and experience reaching the uttermost of the earth.
Today is church day and Krichelle and Jake will share their testimonies. Pastor Brent and Pastor Eric will give their testimonies, and Sam will give communion. We are excited because we have been told that we are having church outside because there are too many people in the church that CCWG built in 2000. They are also expecting the number of children to double as the children have been running through the village telling their friends about VBS.
It will be special as for the first time we will be showing the Jesus film in the village. We know that many people will come simply to see the movie, but it is our hope and prayer that the Spirit will draw many to Himself.
We miss and love you all and we can’t wait to come home and share more of the good news.
Until the last one hears,
Pastor Brent and the 2008 Nepal/India mission team.
