Nepal and India Update Three

This Nepal update is full of memorable events - like visiting an orphanage and worshiping with the Salvation Praise Team. They are in India now, continuing their ministry. More great updates to come!

Hello Everyone!

After some tearful goodbyes, we left the village of Ghadeniya on Tuesday. We can all say that our conference and bible camp were both huge successes. We were all very sad to leave that beautiful little place and the dear brothers and sisters that we have been privileged to minister to.

We returned to Kathmandu and had a much-needed time of rest and refreshment. We spent the rest of Tuesday visiting Hindu and Buddhist temples, and spent time praying for the true and living God to make Himself known to the people here. We even got to do a bit of shopping in the evening.

Thursday we were able to visit Pastor Harka's orphanage in Kathmandu. As we walked along the alleyway that leads to the house, we were greeted with the beautiful sound of children singing.

Pastor Harka and his wife, Shova, have 18 children living in their home - and only one of them is biologically theirs. All of the children are sponsored through Promise Child.

They shared with the team the story of how God has burdened them with a love for the lost, orphaned, or neglected children of Nepal, and how He has provided everything they need to provide a safe, loving, Christ-centered home for the children God brings to them.

Our teenagers once again did an amazing job of loving the children; singing songs, playing games, and doing fun crafts. We all agree that bringing highschoolers on this trip has brought a dynamic to our trip that we have not had in the past. You all should be very proud of them.

We spent the rest of the afternoon at our friend Punkaj's music studio with the Salvation Praise Team - the most popular worship artists in Nepal. Their team led our team in a sweet time of worship, and our group shared a few songs as well.

We ended our last night in Nepal with a sweet time of fellowship at Gopal and Sheila's house. We had a wonderful meal and got to spend some time with several of the Promise Children who live in Kathmandu. We ended our time with a glorious time of worship and prayer.

We are off to India early in the morning. We will have a one hour plane ride, followed by a 12 hour jeep ride along a winding bumpy mountain road.

Of course, this isn't something any of us are particularly looking forward to. But then we think about our friend Imdra's cry to share the gospel with her unreached village, and we know that our long journey will be worth going into the two villages to share the gospel with those who have never heard. Please continue to pray for us.

Till the last one hears,

Nancy Kaser for the 2008 Nepal/India Mission Team

P.S. They made it safely to Mussoorie, India after a very long and crazy jeep ride. They are seeing some beautiful countryside, but most of the team are suffering from a head cold.

Tonight (10/31/08), the team is spending the night camping in a village and tomorrow they are headed down into Jordhi, India to share the gospel, visit the Promise Children, and conduct a vacation Bible school.

Please pray for the team to get a good nights rest and that their colds will be much better.

Also, pray that the people of India would receive the gospel message with open hearts and that in all things, God would be glorified.
