Recycle, Reuse And Reduce
To Organize Your Home
And Save Some Money!

Here are some quick ways to recycle, reuse, and reduce around your house. They will save you money, and save our landfills the unnecessary waste.

Things You Can Recycle

Some of these have rebates, be sure to double check and cash them in!

~ Cans
~ Glass
~ Steel
~ Motor Oil
~ Computer Parts
~ Newspaper/Computer Paper
~ Plastic containers and bags
~ Old Wood Furniture
~ Cardboard

Things You Can Reuse

~ Extra laundry baskets or picnic baskets can hold toys and stuffed animals.

~ Flat cloth diapers or old t-shirts can be used as dusting or window rags.

~ Newspaper cleans windows perfectly, especially when combined with an all-natural window cleaner.

~ Washcloths can be used in place of paper napkins in the kitchen.

~ A paper towel holder is great for drying washcloths or little kitchen towels.

~ gently-worn kids clothes can be exchanged with friends.

~ A good upholsterer can completely makeover your old furniture, and it's usually cheaper than buying new.

~ Good quality cloth diapers can be used for future babies.

~ Glass jars can be used again and again for homemade sauces and leftovers. (Glass does not leach chemicals like plastic containers sometimes do, and the jars can go in the dishwasher.)

~ An old vertical napkin holder is a great place to organize your monthly bills.

~ Your Christmas cookie jar can hold your Christmas cookie cutters during the year. Then, you will know where to find everything during "cookie season."

Things You Can Reduce

~ Reduce your use of disposable dinnerware - it can really add up, and be quite a waste. You can buy some nice reusable place-settings and still save money!

~ Reduce your use of paper towels, and save $5-$10 per month.

~ Switch to cloth diapers, and you can save over $400 per year.

~ Reduce electricity by turning off lights, TVs and computers, and save $20-$30 on your electricity bill each month.
